Over the past 2 years we have talked to many Care homeowners who are considering selling, not always an easy decision, for some its simply time to retire, for others the stresses are becoming too much with increasing compliance demands , staffing issues and rising costs. Its not as simple to run a Home as it was some years ago. Covid didn’t help.

 

“Is this the right time” is a common question, “will I get the best value”. Professionals will say the right time to sell is when someone wants to buy. Waiting for the market to change is a risky and probably long-term option and it won’t get any easier, values go up and down.

 

For the smaller Care home owner it’s even harder as you don’t get the benefits of the infrastructure a larger business can bring i.e. having a marketing person to build occupancy, a recruitment team to get you the best staff, HR on tap when needed and better prices on purchasing as a group.
